I have been a clinical psychologist for a long time, and I have spent a lot of time in therapy myself. So I know the process from both perspectives.
I don’t think anyone ever wants to go for therapy or counseling – you go because you need to or have to.
On this site, I am trying to reduce some of the uncertainty – about me, about the process of counseling or psychotherapy. The Biography tab in the top menu links to information about my background and training, and the links at the right take you to comments I have written about the process. I hope they provide some reassurance and support – even if you end up going to someone else.
You still have to decide whether you will feel comfortable working on your issues with me. For that, the best way to find out is by coming one time and noticing your reactions. If you feel comfortable, and it seems that I can be helpful, you may decide to come again.
My office is located on Route 23 in Hillsdale, N.Y. If you are considering counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis or clinical supervision, please give me a call at (508) 395-0040, and we can talk about working together.
